I joined the 5 News team in May of 2012 as Weekend Meteorologist and Weekday Reporter before moving into my current position as the Daybreak and Midday Meteorologist in December of 2012. I grew up just north of the border in the small town of West Newton, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, I spent several years at my hometown’s TV station, WNCTV 7, doing everything from production to weather. My experiences there led to my opportunity here at 5 News.
Weather has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I drew lots of weather maps and watched countless hours of the Weather Channel. The event that solidified my love for weather was the Blizzard of ’93, which dropped 2 feet of snow in my hometown. It was also the first time I ever saw thundersnow, which was definitely a cool experience as a 9 year old.
Despite growing up just 30 miles south of Pittsburgh, I did grow up a Mountaineer fan, so there’s no need to worry there. I also am a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions.
In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors. I love to bike, hike and swim. I really look forward to living in North Central West Virginia, and bringing you your First Alert forecast bright and early on weekday mornings.
