Lauren joined the 5 News team as a weekend reporter in February of 2014 and in October of 2015 took over the Weekend Anchor position.
In June 2016, she took over the Monongalia and Preston Counties beat, while continuing to anchor on the weekends.
She graduated from West Virginia University in May of 2016, with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. During her time in college, she had the opportunity to work for the school’s University Relations Video Department and was a member of the school’s RTDNA chapter.
Lauren followed her passion for reporting early on in life. She interned right here at WDTV while she was in high school. This is where she got her first taste of the exciting life of being a reporter, and knew that she wanted to pursue this as a career. Lauren continued to work part-time at WDTV for almost her entire college career. She has also been awarded with the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Journalism Award.
Lauren is a local girl at heart. She grew up in Shinnston, WV and couldn’t be happier to be covering the news of her hometown!
When she’s not out chasing a story, Lauren enjoys going to Broadway musicals and plays, working out, traveling, driving her Beetle Bug, and spending time with family and friends.
