Elkins woman charged with arson after storage unit fire

ELKINS, W.Va. (WDTV) A woman from Elkins has been arrested for allegedly admitting to setting a fire that damaged about 30 storage units in January.

According to the criminal complaint, Beth Meadows texted her ex-boyfriend that she slid newspaper with lighter fluid under the door of his storage unit at Aero Self Storage because "he can't just walk away." She supposedly told him she would destroy his belongings two days before the fire.

He claims he broke up with Meadows in October of 2016.

Meadows is also facing other charges.
