Airport Authority endorses proposal for new flights at CKB

Skywest Airlines

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The Benedum Airport Authority announced Thursday that they are endorsing Sky West Airlines’ Essential Air Service proposal for daily flights from North Central Regional Airport to Washington Dulles (IAD) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) airports.

The proposal called for 12 weekly departures from CKB on a Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) 50-seat aircraft.

The proposal must be decided on by the Department of Transportation.

"The DOT has requested all comments be submitted prior to July 25th to facilitate an expedient selection of a new carrier at CKB," said North Central West Virginia Airport’s Airport Director Rick Rock. "We are confident the public, especially the business community, will embrace
SkyWest' s proposal if selected given the hub options and jet aircraft provided. It's an exciting time for all of North Central West Virginia."

SkyWest currently operates over 2,100 flights a day to 234 North American destinations. You can visit the airline’s website in the Related Links.
