Arctic air returns for today, but a weekend warm-up is on the way! How warm will it get and will it last?

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - While we woke up to widespread 40's in the region yesterday, today we started off the morning with teens and lower 20's. Temperatures will remain cold for today despite clouds breaking and sunshine returning. We will only warm into the lower 30's with most locations below freezing for today. As high pressure moves east it will kick all of the clouds out of the area for today, but another low-pressure system is fast approaching and clouds will be back tomorrow.

Despite lots of clouds for tomorrow, temperatures will warm into the lower 50's during the afternoon. As high pressure tracks eastward, southwesterly flow will pull in warmer temperatures for tomorrow and the start of this weekend. A stationary front will stall out bringing rain starting Saturday evening and sticking around through Sunday afternoon. Temperatures cool slightly once the front moves through, but we rebound once again into the 50's in the middle of the next work week.
