CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- West Virginia House Speaker Tim Armstead announced publicly Friday that he will not be running for re-election to the House of Delegates.

Armstead was first elected to the House in 1998. He served as House Minority Leader from 2007 to 2014, when he became Speaker of the House.

Armstead said that while he is not running for the House again, he is keeping his political options open. He said one thing he is looking into is running for the Supreme Court of Appeals.
