At work with Alison: yoga instructor

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WDTV) - Sheray Efaw was introduced to yoga a little over five years ago, after she met her now husband.

Sheray is known by her brand name, 'WV Yoga Girl'.

"Four or five months after we met, we went to Costa Rica for three months. My neighbor was a surf and yoga instructor and she asked if I wanted to go to yoga. I said 'Yeah, let's go!" and I've been doing it ever since," she said.

Sheray fell in love with the way yoga made her mind feel connected to her body.

When she and her husband returned to the US, Sheray started practicing yoga in Morgantown and decided to become an instructor.

Now, she teaches at Main Street Yoga in Fairmont, River Song Yoga Spa in Bridgeport, and offers private classes.

"I don't teach so you can do a headstand, although that's great, I just teach to help people feel better."

Sheray says teaching yoga is her passion.

"I think people sometimes need a nudge in the right direction to find that strength and courage to be who they are and say what they feel."
