Beautiful spring-like start to the weekend, will it stick around?

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - We are saying goodbye to that bitter cold arctic air and hello to some unseasonably warm temperatures this afternoon! Don't ditch that winter jacket just yet, you still need it for the cold this morning. As high pressure continues to slide eastward, southerly flow behind it will allow for some very warm air from our friends to the south to move north into our region. Temperatures this afternoon will soar into the middle and upper 50's with sunshine and clear skies!

Unfortunately, all of this sunshine does not stick around for the weekend. We will remain warm through Sunday, but our next low-pressure system is on the move. Tomorrow, clouds return in the afternoon ahead of our next cold front which will start to slowly drop out those temperatures through the weekend. Saturday daytime highs in the middle 50's and into Sunday down into the lower 50's. Dramatic changes for Monday once that cold front moves through. Northwesterly flow behind the cold front will allow for some snow showers to develop across the northernmost and western counties of the Mountain State. Temperatures significantly cooler for both Monday and Tuesday. Another warm up in the forecast for the middle of the week!
