The Morgantown Parking Authority has installed six additional bike loops to make it easier for bicyclists to park around town.

Bike loops are metal rings installed on a pole or parking meter. Bicyclists can line up their biked parallel and roughly centered to the ring and use their lock of choice to secure them. Up to two bikes can be secured at each loop, as long as the handlebars face opposite directions.

“These bike loops are a great way to improve bike accessibility around town. Everyone benefits when cyclists feel safe and welcome while having a convenient system that allows them to follow all laws and regulations,” stated Drew Gatlin, chair of the Morgantown Bike Board.

The loops have been installed on the bottom floor of the Pleasant Street parking garage, on both sides of South High Street in front of the Monongalia County Justice Center, at the Public Safety Building on Spruce Street, on Brockway Avenue near Phoenix Bakery, and on Carson Street near Bombay Indian Grill.
