Bridgeport council supports bid for new air service

BRIDGEPORT. W. Va. (WDTV) -- Bridgeport City Council will be penning a letter, supporting the Benedum Airport Authority's quest to get SkyWest to the airport.

The Department of Transportation will be making the ultimate decision.

At Monday's council meeting, City Manager Kim Haws said SkyWest has the "...potential to be a great opportunity for the area." Other council members agreed, saying they've heard all great things.

Bridgeport council is just the latest to give a nod of support. The Harrison County Commission and Clarksburg Council have as well.
