Bridgeport man arrested on strangulation charges

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Bridgeport man has been arrested on strangulation charges.

According to the criminal complaint, on Thursday, the victim said she was laying on a bed and was in an argument with Timothy Thomas when he choked her until she couldn't breathe. When she got up, Thomas proceeded to throw her to the ground, before choking her again, lifting her off of the ground.

The victim told police Thomas threatened to kill her if she called the cops. In the complaint, officers stated there were marks on the victim's neck.

Thomas is currently in North Central Regional Jail.
