Chapman found guilty of murder

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A man was found guilty of the murder of a man in Marion County.

Chapman, along with five other individuals, allegedly planned and participated in a home invasion-style robbery at a home on Watson Avenue on November 17, which resulted in the shooting death of Malcolm Whitted of Detroit, MI.

Chapman was arrested for the crime in Delaware in December 2016. His trial began Monday.

On Friday, a jury found Chapman guilty of conspiracy to commit felony, nighttime burglary, first-degree robbery, and first-degree murder-with mercy recommended.

Five others were indicted for the crime, and also face murder charges.
