UPDATE: Clarksburg shooting victim dies

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV) — UPDATE 2/13/17
The victim of a shooting last week has died, according to the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office.

The victim was rushed to the hospital after he was shot on Werninger Street in Clarksburg by a juvenile suspect.

After a search, the suspect was taken into custody.

No further information about the victim or suspect has been released at this time.

Harrison County dispatchers confirm a suspect is in custody.

UPDATE 9:05 p.m.

Clarksburg Police say the victim was taken to United Hospital Center with a single gunshot wound; however, he was then flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital. It's believed he's probably "in critical condition," according to Deputy Chief Snider.

Investigators say the suspect was seen running east. They don't know a motive but are confident they will find the suspect. Police say it seems the suspect and victim were acquainted.


UPDATE 2/8/18 8:00 p.m.

Clarksburg Police are still searching for a suspect. Police describe the suspect as a tall, thin white man, wearing a dark hoodie.

A K9 has been brought in to join the search.

There's no update on the victim's condition at this time.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department, State Police and members of the Harrison County Drugs and Violent Crimes Task Force are assisting in the search.
