Coat drive keeps students warm this holiday season

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va (WDTV) - 'Operation Warm' came to Adamston Elementary School in Clarksburg Tuesday, as 85 less fortunate students received brand new coats.

Clarksburg firefighters have partnered with the organization for three years. The coats are specific to each child, with their names written inside.

"Looking at the smiles on their faces, they couldn't even sit in their seats, they were so excited," Kelley Davisson, a school counselor, said, smiling.

Davisson added that out of all the elementary schools in Harrison County, Adamston has the highest number of children living in poverty. For some of the children, this was the first time they received coats of their own.
