Old man winter is being kicked out by the weekend warm up!

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Who is tired of the snow and frigid cold temperatures? We've only been dealing with them since Tuesday following a near record-breaking warm couple of days. If two days of cold and snowy conditions are enough for you, this weekend is exactly what you need!

Last night, snow and freezing rain created treacherous travel conditions on even main roads. Black ice caused accidents and highways to be shut down entirely. Although this morning we woke up to flurries and very cold temperatures, the roads were in much better condition. As temperatures hover in the middle 30's through the day today, some slick spots on the roads are still to be expected. Gradually, clouds will decrease throughout the day today as high pressure slides east and kicks out the cold as well. We could even see a few peaks of sunshine late this afternoon before sunset.

Did someone say Spring? That's what this weekend has to offer! Abundant sunshine returns tomorrow and temperatures skyrocket into the middle and upper 50's across NCWV tomorrow afternoon. A beautiful start to the weekend only sticks around for Friday though, as far as sunshine goes. Saturday evening clouds return with our next low-pressure system. Temperatures will remain in the 50's both Saturday and Sunday; however, expect a dramatic change to start off the next week. A cold front sweeps through the region and temperatures drop back down into the 30's for daytime highs both Monday and Tuesday.
