BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - The air is flowing from the west and northwest into West Virginia. This is keeping a fresh supply of cold air in our area. However, with high pressure moving east for the end of the week, warmer air will return.
High pressure will bring sunshine late Thursday and all of Friday. Later in the day Friday a low level jet will set up off to our west. This is a relatively fast flow of air at 5,000 feet. This will pull warmer temperatures northeast. While the strongest of winds at this level will stay off to our west, we will still get the benefits of increased southwesterly flow pumping temperatures well into the 50s Friday.
