Crews respond to massive fire at industrial site in Huntington

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WSAZ) Fire officials responded to the scene of a massive fire at an industrial site, early Tuesday morning.

WSAZ reports the fire started around 2:30 am at the former A & A Transmissions building at the corner of 4th Ave and 3rd Street.

The building is being called a total loss. Firefighters on scene told WSAZ there was still a lot of old equipment inside, including several propane tanks.

Thousands of AEP customers were without power at one point, following the blaze. Now a little more than 150 customers are without power in the immediate area around the fire. Power is expected to be restored to all customers around 10 am.

Firefighters advised they will be on the scene for at least the next 24 hours.
