UPDATE: Fire damages Fairmont home

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- UPDATE
Firefighters tell us the fire started in the kitchen in the first floor apartment, before spreading throughout parts of the building. They don't know what caused the fire.

No one was inside that apartment when the fire broke out; however, one person was in the upstairs apartment. They got out safely.

According to Marion County 911 dispatchers, there is a fire at a home on Fay Street in Fairmont.

The fire broke out around 4:50 p.m. Friday.

Officials do not believe anyone was home at the time. There are no injuries.

The Fairmont Police Department, Fairmont Fire Department, and the Marion County Rescue Squad are on the scene.
