Don Blankenship holds town hall in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Don Blankenship held his first town hall meeting in our area Thursday evening at the Mountainlair Student Union at WVU.

Blankenship is running for the U.S. Senate on the Republican ticket. He used to be the CEO of Massey Energy.

He was convicted in 2015 on a misdemeanor count of conspiring to violate federal mine-safety laws at Massey's Upper Big Branch Mine in southern West Virginia.

The town hall - his seventh event held in the state - was free to attend. He took questions from audience members after giving a brief speech.
