Teachers and supporters rally in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, Wv. Teachers and supporters rally in Clarksburg, hoping that the West Virginia State Legislature will pass a bill to fund PEIA.

If you were driving along Emily Drive in Clarksburg this morning, you probably saw a bunch of people holding up signs and voicing their opinions against West Virginia State Legislature that is cutting PEIA for teachers. People rallying say that it's not about the money, it's about raising their insurance premiums, while their paychecks stay the same. PEIA is the main concern, but it's not the only one.

"We are hoping that the state legislature hears us and the communities support that we have and that they would pass a bill to fund PEIA, leave our seniority alone and get rid of some of our ridiculous requirements" says Vice President of the Harrison County Education Association Greg Phillips.
