RICHMOND, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Richmond Field Office is asking the public’s help identifying a man that is believed to be responsible for a series of bank robberies.
Six robberies occurred from September 2017 to January 2018 in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Texas.
During the robberies, the suspect-whom investigators have nicknamed “The Chameleon Beard Bandit”-produced demanding notes and showed or threatened that he had a handgun.
The subject is described as a white male that is approximately 5’11” to 6’2”, approximately 180 to 240 pounds, and in his mid to late 30’s. He is described to have a medium build, brown eyes and hair, and a light complexion. Officials say the subject also wears glasses and frequently changes the color of his beard.
The Richmond Division of the FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
