BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - A few rain showers before 9:00pm Monday before colder air drops temperatures. After that, mainly snow showers off and on through sunrise Tuesday. By that time, most of the accumulations will be on the ground. Snow showers remain until about noon in the mountains east of I-79.
Total snowfall of about 1" for most locations near and west of I-79. Two to four inches possible in the highest elevations of Pocahontas, Preston, Randolph, Tucker, and Garrett counties.
A new storm system moves through on Thursday. This should bring rain initially. As temperatures get colder on the back side, rain turns to snow. Accumulations are possible area-wide, but it depends on how fast the changeover in temperature occurs. The longer it rains, the less will be left over for snow.
Another chance for snow comes on Sunday. A cold front, the leading edge of colder air, will bring snow showers. Minor accumulations are possible. This could affect any plans you may have to travel to watch 'the big game'.
