Football fever running high

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV)-- The quarterfinal playoff match ups are kicking off under the Friday night lights. The top ranked class AA Bridgeport Indians are set to face off against the number five Fairmont Senior Polar Bears.

"Definitely a win and to move onto the state championship that is all we are focused on tonight. Just to play hard and focus and to get the job done," said Dante Stills, Fairmont Senior football player.

"It's going to be a big one. I hope that we can win again and go to Wheeling Island and get another title, four in a row," said Richard Isner, Bridgeport fan.

This is the seventh time they have played against eachother in the last four years. But only one will advance to the state championship.

Several parents said no matter the outcome, they are proud of the team's accomplishments this season.

"Just being apart of this is monumental for him and then watching this whole transition for a parent I can't even put it into words," said Erin Oldaker, Bridgeport fan.

Each team is hoping to add another state title and said they are ready for tonight's match up.

"I've been ready since the last time we played Bridgeport. It's not even a question," said Darius Stills, Fairmont Senior football player.

"We've been ready since day one," said Dante Stills.

"You've got a team that is so cohesive and truly a family, so that makes it even better," said Oldaker.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Jamison Field.
