RIO DE JANEIRO (WSAZ) -- A second Mountaineer has taken home the gold at the Olympics in Rio.

According to the WVU Rifle Team, former WVU team member Nicco Campriani, shooting for his home country of Italy, claimed his first gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle.

In the 2012 Olympics, Campriani won the silver medal in the 10m rifle final. He won gold in 2012 in the 50m three position rifle final. Qualifications for that event will be held on August 14.

Campriani will also shoot in the 50m rifle prone. That qualification will be held on August 12.

Campriani is the second Mountaineer to win gold in rifle at the Rio Olympics. Ginny Thrasher, 19, won the women's 10m air rifle over the weekend.
