Free offers and discounts for veterans

A number of business and groups are honoring veterans and active military personnel by offering them discounts and free items on and around Veterans Day.

Food and Drink

Applebee’s restaurants throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia are offering a free meal on Saturday.

Additionally, through November 11, Pennsylvania and West Virginia locations are also inviting guests to thank their local retired and active duty military members through their Buy A Vet A Bud program, where guests can purchase a Budweiser® or Bud Light® beer at their local Applebee’s to be given to a deserving veteran who provides proof of service in-restaurant on Veterans Day free of charge.* Participating guests will also have the opportunity to create an original label with a personal message, which will be put on the bottle before it is served to the veteran.
b>Bob Evans is offering veterans and active duty military personnel the choice of one of six free meals on Saturday at all Bob Evans restaurants. The choice of select breakfast (available all day), lunch, and dinner menu items are:
• Stack of Hotcakes (Buttermilk or Multigrain)
• Fresh Baked Brioche French Toast
• Country Biscuit Breakfast
• Mini Sampler Breakfast
• Farm Boy Sandwich
• Country Fried Steak Dinner

Buffalo Wild Wings is offering a free small order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries Saturday.

Chili's is offering a free meal from a special menu at participating locations Saturday.

Cicis Pizza is offering a free adult buffet Saturday for veterans.

Circle K is offering a free Polar Pop with the Veterans Day deal on the convenience store chain’s mobile app and with military ID Saturday.

Cracker Barrel is offering a free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake for veterans Saturday.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is offering veterans get a free sandwich, savory side and a Big Yellow Cup from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free doughnut of choice, while supplies last on Saturday.

Eat’n Park Restaurants is offering all active and former United States military personnel with a 10% discount for the entire month of November. The discount applies to all guests on the active or former military personnel’s check. The discount begins November 1 and ends Thursday, November 30.

Hooters is offering a free meal for all military from a special menu Saturday.

Little Caesars is offering a free Hot-N-Ready lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

LongHorn Steakhouse is offering a free appetizer or dessert. Guests dining with veterans will receive 10% off their meals Saturday.

Olive Garden is offering a free meal from a select menu.

Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and non-alcoholic beverage Saturday.

Panera Bread is offering a free breakfast sandwich until 10 a.m. Saturday at participating locations.

After 10 a.m., members of the military will receive a coupon for a free pastry at a future visit.

Primanti Bros. is offering a free classic sandwich to veterans and active military members all day Saturday.

Red Lobster is offering a free appetizer or dessert Saturday.

Ruby Tuesday is offering a free appetizer up to $10 Saturday.

Sheetz is offering a free meal and a free carwash Saturday.

Shoney's is offering a free breakfast bar from 6 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Starbucks is offering a free tall coffee for any veteran, active duty military and military spouse Saturday.

TGI Friday'sis offering a free lunch menu item up to $12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as well as a coupon for $5 off next meal.

Haircuts

Great Clips is offering veterans and active duty service members a free haircut on Veterans Day or they can pick up a free haircut card to use through Dec. 31. Also, non-veterans who get a haircut Saturday will receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran.

The Oaks Salon &Studio in Bridgeport is offering free haircuts to veterans on Veteran’s Day.

Shopping

Bed Bath & Beyond is offering 15% off an entire purchase November 9-12, in-store only.

Dollar General is offering an 11% discount in-store and online with promo code VET17 on Saturday.

Food Lion stores will offer a 10% discount to active and retired military personnel.

Grand Trunk is offering a discount program available to Active Duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, Veterans and Retirees for 30% off the ENTIRE website.

Home Depot is offering a 10% discount Saturday.

LIDS is offering 25% off online and 50% custom embroidery in-store Saturday, with a military ID.

Lowe's is offering a 10% discount Saturday.

Target is offering a 10% discount on in-store and online purchases for veterans, active military, spouses and dependent children through Saturday. You can register for this discount at www.target.com.

Toys“R”Us is offering all service men and women currently in the Military, reserves, dependents or retired a 15% discount off their total in-store purchase through Saturday, November 11.

Walgreens is offering 20% off eligible regular-price items for all veterans, military and their families with Balance Rewards card and proof of military service on Saturday.

Other local offers

VFW Post #1589 Annual "Veterans Day Breakfast"/and presentation of check to Potomac Highlands Wounded Warrior Outreach of WV is on November 18th from 8am to 11am , with a check presentation after 9am.

Mountain Line Transit Authority is offering free rides to veterans on all local routes on November 11.

The Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex will celebrate Veteran’s Day on Saturday, Nov. 11 with screenings of the documentary “Vietnam: West Virginia Remembers.” Screenings begin at 1 and 3 p.m.
