Gov. Justice proposes changes to PEIA health plan

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Governor Jim Justice has asked PEIA to make changes to its wellness program.

On Monday, the Governor said he asked PEIA to take a "softer approach." He said he did this after receiving numerous concerns about the proposed changes.

According to a release from Governor Justice, the Humana Go365 will be 100 percent voluntary for PEIA policyholders "with no penalties tied to this program."

Justice said he's been told PEIA can removed the proposed premium penalty of $25 per month with minimal financial impact.

“We needed to get the $25 per month penalty removed,” said Governor Justice. “I understand the challenges our families are struggling with today and this was the right thing to do.”
