Charleston, W.Va (WDTV) - Governor Justice has announced that a deal has been reached in the ongoing teacher and school service personnel strike in the Mountain State.
An email released by the Governor office stated that he "stood rock solid on the 5 percent teacher pay raise and delivered. Not only this, but he and his staff made additional cuts which gave all State employees 5 percent as well."
Talks of a possible deal came after a conference committee of House and Senate members met twice Monday, adjourning until Tuesday morning after Senate Majority Leader Ryan Ferns said his chamber's leadership was offering "a compromise position."
The email made no mention of a permanent fix to PEIA.
There's also no word on if or when students will head back to the classroom.
