Heavy rain in the forecast and the potential for flooding. Will the warmer temperatures stick around?

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Unseasonably warm temperatures are in the forecast for the next few days. We will climb into the upper 50's this afternoon, and possibly upper 60's for tomorrow. Record highs could be tied as temperatures flirt with some 70's tomorrow. All of this warmth does come with ample rainfall once again.

Over the past 2 weeks, an abundance of rainfall has saturated the ground. With creeks and rivers running high and not able to take in any more rainfall, a Flood Watch has been issued for most counties across NCWV. This means that at this time, based on current forecasts, the threat of flooding is possible. Rain showers will continue on and off starting tonight through Friday.

Temperatures dramatically cooling through the day on Friday and some of this rain could even end as some light snow showers especially in the higher elevations. Through Friday, up to 3.00" of rain could fall in the region.
