Local Sunday services celebrate Christmas

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WDTV) - Local churches were excited to celebrate the coming of Christmas with special services all day long, including some into the night.

Christmas Eve service is a little more exciting than regular Sunday services. Christmas carols, candle lighting, and children's choir are a part of many churches activities. First Presbyterian in Fairmont celebrated their Christmas Eve in a similar fashion.

Preacher Elise Renee Neal said, "It's the greatest day of the year. When we get to celebrate the birth of Christ. Our church- we have a tradition where we sing Silent Night in a circle, to me a circle can never be broken. We get to celebrate the joy of the hope and the promise, a new way, a new start, a new beginning, and it's just a great time for family and friends to get together."

Another service will be held at 7:00pm at the church on Sunday evening and the community is welcomed to attend this evening and help bring in Christmas.
