VALLEY HEAD, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Valley Head man was arrested after he spent nearly a month evading officers after allegedly physically assaulting and waving a handgun at his young family members.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Charles Rust Stanley was wanted for Wanton Endangerment with a firearm for allegedly physically assaulting and waving a handgun at young family members on September 17. Officials say Stanley evaded officers during multiple attempts to arrest him on a felony warrant.

On October 11, Stanley barricaded himself inside his home after refusing to cooperate with deputies. Officers obtained a search warrant for the home and were able to apprehend Stanley in the attic.
