MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) - Saturday afternoon, downtown Morgantown's High Street was filled with activities for children to have fun. 5 News met one family who came to the MedExpress Kid's Day for the first time, and got to see what the day was like for their grandkids.

"My name is Yvonne Grace Blair and I'm six years old," she said.

Blair and her cousin, Lakyn Forbes, who is two years old, were brought to the event by their grandparents. They spent the day walking around the downtown area, enjoying the activities.

The most popular? Blair says the face painting station was the best part. She and Forbes both got butterflies painted on their faces.

"My favorite animal is a butterfly," Blair explained.

Blair and Forbes got to go fishing for prizes, get their fingerprints taken, and pretend to drive cars. Their grandparents saved one activity for last.. a trip to see the firetruck that was spraying the hose, which Blair was very excited about.

"I want to see the firetruck," she said.

The cold water from the fire hose cooled the two girls down on this hot afternoon. After they were done, Blair told us her family's plans for the the rest of the day.

"We're about to leave and go get lunch," Blair said.

The MedExpress Kid's day is an annual event aimed for children and families to enjoy games and activities, learn about safety, and much more.
