Morgantown traffic to be altered during WVU Homecoming Parade

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The Morgantown Police Department says traffic patterns will be altered Friday evening due to the West Virginia University Homecoming Parade.

Parking will be restricted on High Street, Prospect Street, and North High Street starting when the parade begins at 5:30.

Traffic in downtown Morgantown will also be restricted during the parade. Officials say traffic will be detoured from Willey Street onto Prospect Street, up Price Street to Fife Street, down North High Street, turning right on Maiden Lane to College Avenue and onto University Avenue. Officers will be assisting with traffic.

To avoid the detour, motorists can travel on College Avenue from Willey Street to University Avenue.

Officials say traffic patterns will be returned to normal as soon as possible after the parade.
