UPDATE: More information released on Clarksburg stabbing

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. (WDTV) -- UPDATE 10/12/17 2:31 PM

More information has been released regarding a stabbing on Locust Avenue Wednesday night.

According to officials, the suspect is 20-year-old John Richard Lucas. Lucas was allegedly standing outside his girlfriend's home with the victim and the victim's brother, when the victim's brother began yelling and a fight broke out. Then, Lucas allegedly stabbed the victim.

Lucas is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.


Clarksburg Police have confirmed that the suspect in a stabbing incident is in custody. The suspect has been transferred to a local jail.

The suspects identity has not been released.

Clarksburg Police are investigating after a reported stabbing on Locust Avenue, Wednesday night.

It happened around 11:15 p.m.

Not much information has been released just yet, but police say the suspect was taken to United Hospital Center.

Police say this is not believed to be connected to the shooting that happened a short time later.
