UPDATE: Officials investigating shots fired as attempted suicide

Police say they are now investigating the shots fired incident as an attempted suicide.

ORIGINAL STORY
One person was transported to Fairmont General after a shots fired incident Thursday night.

According to 911 dispatchers, the incident happened on Ridgeley Avenue in Fairmont around 11:45.

Officials are not releasing any information on what exactly happened or if a suspect is in custody. The Fairmont Police Department is expected to release more information Friday morning.

Fairmont Police, Fairmont Fire and Marion County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
