Pedestrian struck by vehicle at Mon Boulevard/Evansdale Drive intersection

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A pedestrian has been rushed to the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Monongahela Boulevard and Evansdale Drive Tuesday morning.

According to the Morgantown Police Department, a preliminary investigation showed a Ford F-Series Truck struck the pedestrian while she was in the crosswalk at around 10:40 a.m.

The pedestrian was rushed to Ruby Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery. Her identity has not been released at this time. Officials say her parents are en route to Morgantown.

The area was closed for investigation, but has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
