Police searching for suspects in Mon County armed robbery


MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery that took place at around 11:00 Wednesday night.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office, the robbery happened at the BFS store on Venture Drive in Cheat Lake. The clerk told police that two black men entered the store, went over to the counter and took and an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes.

The first suspect was described as wearing a gray hoodie and dark colored gloves, and had a beard. The second suspect was described as also wearing a gray hoodie but was wearing lighter-colored gloves and was heavier set than the first suspect.

Officials say that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle driven by a third suspect.

No one was injured. According to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office, only one employee was in the store at the time of the robbery.
