UPDATE: More details released about fatal Route 92 accident

UPDATE 10:45AM

More details have been released regarding a fatal accident on Route 92 Tuesday night.

According to officials, a car and a tractor-trailer collided just north of Stalnaker Road after one of the vehicles crossed the center line.

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver is currently in stable condition at Broaddus Hospital.

The names of the drivers are not being released at this time.

Route 92 was shut down for several hours. West Virginia State Police, the West Virginia Public Service Commission, Philippi Volunteer Fire Department, Belington Volunteer Fire Department, Barbour County Emergency Squad, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the West Virginia Department of Highways assisted at the scene.

The Barbour County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

According to the Barbour County Sheriff's Office, one person died following a head-on collision on Route 92 Tuesday evening.

Not many details are being released at this time.

As of 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, the road is still shut down.

Dispatchers say it was a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck.

There's no word on injuries at this time.

The Barbour County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

Part of Route 92 between White Oak Road and Baughman Road is closed due to a vehicle accident.

There is currently no word on how many vehicles are involved or if there are any injuries.
