BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The program coordinator has been named for a pre-apprenticeship program for local women.
Officials from the Step Up for Women Pre-Apprenticeship Program have named Lakiesha Hines of Fairmont as the program coordinator.
The 10-week pre-apprenticeship program is designed to prepare women for manufacturing careers in North Central West Virginia. The program is held at the Robert C. Byrd Institute in Bridgeport.
Women enrolled in the program receive free tuitions and reimbursements for supplies such as work clothes, boots, and other safety gear.
Classes will begin in February 2018 at the RCBI Bridgeport Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, located at 2400 E. Benedum Industrial Drive.
