MONONGALIA COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) - Crews are working on Route 119, from Hornbeck Avenue to Scott Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This project is expected to end on November 17.
Some lanes are closed, forcing cars to merge. Drivers think this is an inconvenience as lanes are closed but did not see crews working. They believe this road should have been fixed a while ago. However, drivers also think that this is a step forward to fixing the road.
"Today was a little bit more hectic than normal," said Greg Short. "But under normal circumstances other than they're taking forever. It seems like it's taking forever."
According to some drivers, the closures are causing them to get stuck in traffic for a couple of minutes. They said it's been hard for them to travel to their destinations. At the same time, others said road construction is a normal view near Morgantown.
"I was on the ramp for about 4-5 minutes," said Lila Claire Feresa. "After I got off the ramp, it was kind of a rough drive to get here."
We spoke to officials at the Division of Highways, but they directed us to a specific person to comment. Those calls haven't been returned. As soon as they are, we'll sure to update you.
