UPDATE: Mon County armed robbery suspect in custody

The suspect in a Morgantown armed robbery has been arrested.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office, Jerry Pugh, Sr., 48, of Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, was involved in a car accident on Canyon Road in Mon County Tuesday.

Deputies discovered that Pugh had warrants for his arrest out of PA and found a hidden pistol.

Officials say Pugh later confessed that he robbed the Big Dog Cafe on Point Marion Road earlier that morning.

Pugh is charged with Armed Robbery, Fugitive From Justice, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Pugh is currently at North Central Regional Jail.

Deputies are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery on Point Marion Road early Tuesday morning.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office, the robbery took place at the Big Dog Cafe at around 1:00 a.m. Officials say a man entered the business, brandished a black handgun, and got away with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a man in his forties with a gray and white goatee. He is around 6 feet tall.

Officials say the suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle, but the type of vehicle is unknown at this time.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is investigating reports of an armed robbery in Morgantown early Tuesday morning.

According to 911 officials the call came in around 1:15 from Point Marion Road. There is no information at this time on if anyone was injured or if a weapon was used.
