State BOE fires Schools for the Deaf and Blind superintendent

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The state Board of Education has decided to fire the state Schools for the Deaf and Blind Superintendent, Dr. Martin Keller.

According to officials, board members voted unanimously to terminate Keller. They also voted unanimously to place Mark Gandolfi and Jamie McBride-Vittorio in charge of administrative duties until a new superintendent is hired.

Multiple people in support of Keller had written letters and spoke to the board on his behalf.

Keller was hired in August 2015. No reason has been given for his termination at this time.
