Statler appointed to House Committee on Fire Departments and Emergency Management

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- House Speaker Tim Armstead has appointed Delegate Joe Statler (R-Monongalia) to the new House Committee on Fire Departments and Emergency Management.

The committee will consist of 11 members of the House of Delegates and will focus on bills centered around state firefighters and emergency personnel.

Statler had previously served as House Chair of the Joint Interim Committee on Volunteer Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services, a subcommittee that went on a listening tour in 2017 aimed at learning the most pressing issues firefighters and emergency personnel face.
