SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WDTV)-- On Saturday the Sunset Drive-In Theater in Shinnston celebrated 70 years of outdoor movies.
The theater hosted the event as a way of saying "thank-you" to patrons for still having an interest in the theater. Festivities included a magician, games, food, and over $1,000 in prizes.
The Sunset Drive-In was built in 1947 and is the oldest remaining drive-in in West Virginia. With only a handful of drive-ins left in the state, the owner's daughter said that the customers love for the Sunset is what keeps the films rolling.
The Sunset Drive-In will be showing two movies on Saturday starting at 8:45 p.m.
