Suspect arrested in shooting at Main Street Station in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A Lost Creek man is in custody after a shooting at Main Street Station in Bridgeport, early Sunday morning.

According to Bridgeport Police, more than a dozen law enforcement officers were called to a reported shooting around 12:45 a.m.

Police said a fight led to shots being fired. The altercation started inside the bar and ended up out in the parking lot. Multiple rounds were fired, some bullets hit a car and others went through the building.

Luckily, no one was struck or hurt.

After firing the shots, the suspect left the area. Once law enforcement were able to get a description of the male suspect, they began their search.

There's no word yet on where the suspect was found. However, Austin Thomas, 21, from Lost Creek was arrested. The shots were fired with a.40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Police said the reason for the altercation is still unknown.
