STAR CITY, W.Va. (WDTV) - Terra Cafe has been committed to quick service, health conscious eating since it first opened six years ago.
Terra Cafe serves a variety of coffee, including French Press and espresso drinks.
"It's about having a convenience factor but still having the integrity of healthy, good food and local ingredients," said Caitlin O'Connell, the general manager.
Terra serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and offers a variety of beautiful desserts.
"I like the coffee and the black bean burger is really good," said customer Alicia Ebeling.
Another customer, Mikey Hannon, said, "The wraps are good and I also like their smoothies."
Everything at terra is made from scratch and many of the ingredients are sourced from local farms and vendors.
"Because everything is made from scratch, we know exactly what's going into it and we work really well with dietary restrictions like gluten-free and dairy-free," O'Connell explained.
The quaint cafe sits alongside the river in Star City and has an outdoor walk-up window, where hikers and bikers can order a bite to-go.
"Just sit here and enjoy for a couple of hours," said O'Connell.
Customers can also sit inside their spacious dining room or outside on the patio near flowers, plants, and walking trails.
"I like being able to see the sun and be around this kind of ambiance," Hannon said.
"It's a very cool and chill place, it's quiet here," said Ebeling.
At Terra Cafe, they say it's a privilege and a joy to be able to provide their beloved customers with healthy, local eats.
O'Connell said, "When you are eating really good ingredients, and you know exactly what you're putting into your body, it can totally change you mentally, physically, and emotionally; it can totally change your appreciation for life."
