UPDATE: Senate passes conference report on pay raise bill, bill now heads to Justice

The Senate has passed the conference report on House Bill 4145.

The bill would provide a five percent pay raise for teachers, service personnel and state police. A pay raise for all other state employees would also be built into the state budget.

The House unanimously passed the conference report earlier Tuesday.

The bill now goes to Governor Justice's desk.

Teachers and school service personnel are in Charleston Tuesday afternoon, waiting for the Senate's decision on a pay raise bill for school service personnel and other state employees.

After discussing the terms of the bill, the Committee on Conference gave a report stating that House Bill 4145 would provide a five percent pay raise for teachers, service personnel and state police. A pay raise for all other state employees would be built into the state budget.

The House unanimously passed the conference report earlier Tuesday.

If the Senate passes the report, the bill will go to Governor Jim Justice's desk.
