Two Clarksburg residents arrested after body found in Barbour County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV)-- Two Clarksburg residents were arrested Saturday in connection to the death of a woman whose body was found in Barbour County.

Daniel Claude Amster, 54, and Elizabeth Ladybird Jenkins, 50, face charges of felony murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

According to Clarksburg Police Chief Robert Hilliard, on Saturday around 4:00 p.m. Clarksburg detectives were contacted by Barbour County authorities that a female body was found in a remote, wooded area near Volga.

The body was discovered by two people who were digging for ramps. Clarksburg and Barbour County authorities arrived to the scene and the body was taken to Charleston where an autopsy will be preformed on Monday.

Shorty after, two arrest warrants were obtained for Amster and Jenkins who live on Williams Avenue in the North View area of Clarksburg,

Police are not releasing information about what led detectives to Jenkins and Amsler.

More details are expected to be released on Monday.
