UPDATE: WVU student injured in auto-pedestrian accident identified, new details released

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Authorities have identified the WVU student hit by a car in Morgantown, Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from Morgantown Police, 20-year-old Sara Queen of Weston was identified as the victim in that incident.

Queen was crossing Monongalia Boulevard at Evansdale Crossing when she was hit by a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck. She was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for surgery, where she remains in critical condition. The driver has not been identified at this time.

The intersection where Queen was crossing is controlled by a traffic light and she was inside the crosswalk at the time of the incident.

Traffic reconstructionist worked to recreate the scene and witness statements and other evidence is still being gathered. The incident remains under investigation and is being reviewed before a final determination of cause is released or charges filed.
