Venue change requested for Lunsford-Conaway trial

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- 5 News has confirmed a change of venue has been requested for the trial of Lena Lunsford-Conaway.

Defense attorney Tom Dyer says the defense filed the motion, stating that they do not believe Lunsford-Conway can receive an impartial trial since the general public is familiar with the case.

Lewis County Chief Circuit Judge Jake Reger has set a hearing on the motion for December 19.

Lunsford-Conaway was indicted in March on murder charges in relation to the death of her 3-year-old daughter, Aliayah Lunsford, in 2011.
