CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV)-- The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is proud to announce the 2018 Veterans’ Creative Arts Competition. The annual event offers veterans an opportunity to display their individual talents and compete for national recognition.
All veterans who receive health care through the LAJVAMC are eligible to participate in the Creative Arts Festival. Entries made to the local competition will be judged by local art professionals and the first place winners of each category will progress to the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival.
Veterans are encouraged to participate and submit their entries according to the following categories:
-Fine Art (such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography)
-Applied Art (such as ceramics, woodcarving, needlework, leatherwork, craft kits)
All entries must be received at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center by March 9, 2018. Interested Veterans should contact Michael Andrew, Recreation Therapist at 304-623-3461, ext. 3050.
In addition, the public is invited to visit the Clarksburg VA Medical Center’s Multi-Purpose Room on March 29 and 30, 2018 from 9:00am to 5:00pm to view the entries.
